The Treatment Room @ Mike’s Fitness JP offers massage therapy, sports massage, cupping, dry needling, and other wellness services to both Mike’s Fitness members and the surrounding community.

About Mike’s Fitness JP
Mike’s Fitness JP is located in the historic Samuel Adams brewery in the heart of Jamaica Plain. Our 15,000-square-foot facility provides a unique environment for fitness and wellness professionals to work alongside an established fitness community.
The Treatment Room brings professional massage therapy and wellness services directly into this community, providing convenient care for both members and local residents.
Massage Therapist Responsibilities
As a massage therapist at The Treatment Room, you will provide personalized therapeutic treatments based on each client’s individual needs.
- Conduct client assessments to determine appropriate massage techniques and treatment plans
- Perform massage modalities including deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy
- Address muscle tension, pain, and other areas of concern through appropriate therapeutic techniques
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to provide safe and effective treatments
- Educate clients about post-treatment care, exercises, and stretches when appropriate
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable treatment environment
- Document treatment details accurately while maintaining client confidentiality
- Stay current with massage therapy techniques, industry best practices, and continuing education
Massage Therapist Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of massage therapy, anatomy, physiology, and client care.
- Valid Massachusetts state licensure or certification as a massage therapist
- Experience providing massage therapy services with a focus on pain management and relaxation
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and relevant medical terminology
- Experience with deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, or other advanced massage modalities is preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to assess individual client needs and provide personalized treatments
- Experience in occupational health, wellness, or a medical spa environment is a plus
- Ability to work professionally in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to continuing education, professional development, safety, and hygiene standards
