I have over 700 hours of certified yoga training, including a 500-hr CYT program with Barbara Benagh through Down Under Yoga studio in Brookline, as well as a 200-hr RYT program with Shiva Rea in Costa Rica. My style draws from different approaches, using elements of slow flow as well as the fluid, more energetic style of Prana Flow. I also teach Yin/restorative classes. A long time meditator, I love incorporating my trainings in meditation and mindfulness into my teaching and personal practice.
I’m also a poet and novelist and earned my MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. I began teaching yoga in 2015, but was a writing and literature teacher for many years before that. I’ve discovered yoga is the perfect discipline to get me out of my head and into my body, and away from the confines of my desk! Yoga is a mind-body practice that nourishes all layers of being, not just the physical.
